Aaron Rodgers was seen at the Steelers’ training facility: What’s happening in Pittsburgh?

The NFL offseason just became more thrilling—Aaron Rodgers, the four-time MVP quarterback, is visiting the Pittsburgh Steelers’ training facility today, March 21. Gerry Dulac from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that Rodgers is meeting with the coaching staff, creating excitement about his next steps after a tough 2024 season with the New York Jets.

Dulac tweeted, “Aaron Rodgers is at the Steelers facility today, suggesting a deal with the team might be on the way,” but he later reminded everyone to stay calm: “Sources have warned that a commitment from Rodgers might not happen today, if at all, and he is just chatting with coach Mike Tomlin and general manager Omar Khan.” Adam Schefter from ESPN confirmed that no deal is close yet, but this visit has fans on edge.

At 41 years old and a free agent for the first time in his 20-year career, Rodgers arrived at Pittsburgh’s South Side facility without a contract but with a lot of interest. NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero mentioned, “No deal is finalized or expected soon. However, Rodgers spent time with the coaches, which shows he’s seriously thinking about playing his 21st season in Pittsburgh.”

Imagine this: the player who passed for 3,897 yards and 28 touchdowns last season, even with the Jets struggling at 5-12, having a conversation with Mike Tomlin and offensive coordinator Arthur Smith. Dulac pointed out that Rodgers also met with Smith, hinting they might have discussed the playbook, although he left without signing anything.

Could this be a preview of the 2025 season with Rodgers and the Steelers’ coaches? The Steelers have been looking for a quarterback since Russell Wilson and Justin Fields became free agents—Fields joined the Jets, while Wilson is still available. According to Steelers Depot, Rodgers has offers from both Pittsburgh and the Giants, and it seems he is weighing his options with the Steelers.

“You’re either in or out when it comes to being a Pittsburgh Steeler,” Cam Heyward joked on his podcast, according to Yahoo Sports, urging Rodgers to make a decision. With DK Metcalf’s new contract strengthening the wide receiver group, Pittsburgh seems prepared for the playoffs—could Rodgers be the final piece they need?

Fans on X are going wild—some believe a Super Bowl is within reach, while others just want the drama to end. This visit doesn’t promise anything, but it clearly shows that Rodgers isn’t ready to retire yet. What plans does he have with Tomlin and Khan?
