Brad Keselowski is heartbroken over the unexpected death of the racing legend, leaving him in shock and disbelief.

The motorsport world fell silent when the family of motorsport legend Eddie Jordan announced his passing. He lost his fight against aggressive prostate cancer early Thursday morning. The Jordan family shared the sad news, stating, “We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Eddie Jordan OBE, the former Formula 1 team owner, TV analyst, and entrepreneur… He passed away peacefully with his family by his side in Cape Town on the early morning of March 20, 2025.”

“Eddie had a significant impact on me and many others in motorsport and beyond. There will never be anyone quite like him,” expressed Damon Hill, the 1996 Formula 1 world champion. Hill is one of many champions who got their start with Jordan, including 7-time world champion Michael Schumacher, who made his Formula 1 debut under Jordan before moving to Benetton in Italy.

Who could forget that memorable day in 1998 at the Belgian Grand Prix? Eddie Jordan was running and jumping around the paddock, overflowing with joy as Damon Hill secured the team’s first victory and Ralf Schumacher finished second, making it a 1-2 finish for the team. It was a scene of pure happiness that had never been seen before in Formula 1 and will likely never be seen again.

Besides giving young drivers a chance to shine in top-level motorsports, Jordan was well-known for the style he added to the F1 paddock. His ‘one-of-a-kind’ car displays and honest opinions brought a refreshing change to Formula 1. Many prominent figures, including Michael Schumacher, the McLaren F1 team, the Mercedes team, Valtteri Bottas, and others, sent their condolences to his family.

Jordan passed away at the age of 76, and since then, tributes have been flooding in from the motorsports community. Even driver and team owner Brad Keselowski expressed his sadness over the loss of the legendary team owner with a touching message.

“What a legend. I was thinking about him earlier this week, wondering how he accomplished everything… certainly to the fullest #Godspeed,” Keselowski shared on X (formerly Twitter), remembering Eddie Jordan, who served as an inspiration for him as he aspires to be a team owner.

In the realm of motorsports, mostly ruled by big corporations and established teams with deep pockets, Eddie Jordan stood out with his independent team. He never shied away from anyone and always shared his bold opinions, adding a rock and roll vibe to a world often filled with suits and ties.

Brad Keselowski has become a well-known figure in NASCAR, not just as a driver but also as a team owner. He started his journey as a team owner in 2007 when he launched Brad Keselowski Racing (BKR). BKR took part in the NASCAR Truck Series and gained a reputation for developing young talent, including drivers like Tyler Reddick, Ryan Blaney, Ross Chastain, and Chase Briscoe, among others. After ten years in racing, Keselowski chose to close the team in 2017.

Like Michael Jordan, Keselowski learned from his setbacks and made a comeback.

“There’s a bit of a control freak in all of us where you think, Man, we were missing this one piece; I knew how to get it. I couldn’t do it because I didn’t have the authority to make it happen. I really enjoy that part of being an owner. That excites me…[that] is my favorite part of being a team owner,” Keselowski shared in an interview with Kelley Earnhardt on the Dale Earnhardt Jr. podcast when asked about what he enjoys most about being a team owner.
