Reports say Tee Higgins and the Bengals have agreed to a four-year contract extension worth $115 million.

Tee Higgins is finally receiving the extension he has wanted for three years.

Reports say the Bengals reached a deal on a four-year, $115 million contract extension with the wide receiver on Sunday night. This agreement will make Higgins the eighth-highest-paid wide receiver in the NFL by 2025.

Ian Rapoport from NFL Network reported on Friday that both sides were making headway on a significant extension. Rapoport also mentioned fellow Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase in the same report, stating that both contracts would be finalized soon after the news broke.

Chase has also secured his own extension and is set to become the highest-paid non-quarterback in the NFL.

After not reaching an agreement on a contract extension before the franchise tag deadline earlier this month, Higgins was prepared to play under the franchise tag for a second consecutive year in 2025. He will now earn $28.75 million in 2025, which is $2.55 million more than the franchise tag value, and he will stay in Cincinnati for four additional years. The first two years of his contract are fully guaranteed, and reports suggest his deal could exceed $30 million per year with incentives.

In his five seasons with the Bengals, Higgins has made 330 catches for 4,595 receiving yards and scored 34 touchdowns. Although he missed five games in 2024 due to hamstring, quad, and ankle injuries, he still achieved 911 yards and 10 touchdowns from 73 receptions.

According to Overthecap.com, the Bengals now have $26.8 million in cap space available for the 2025 league year.

Cincinnati is coming off a 9-8 season where they narrowly missed the playoffs. They currently hold the No. 17 pick in the 2025 NFL draft.
