Draymond Green led the team with 21 points and four steals in the Warriors’ 117-114 victory over the Toronto Raptors at Chase Center on Thursday. Jimmy Butler III contributed a triple-double with 16 points, 11 rebounds, and 12 assists, along with two steals and two blocks, including a crucial block with just 20.9 seconds remaining. The Warriors finished their seven-game home stretch with a strong 6-1 record.
GREEN’S BEST HALF SINCE 2018
In the first half, Draymond Green scored 18 points, achieving not only a season high but also his highest points in a half since March 17, 2018. He made four 3-pointers during this half and added an impressive right-hand dunk. Throughout his career, Green has only scored more than 18 points in a half three times, with his personal best being 21 points in a half against the Denver Nuggets back in 2016.
PODZIEMSKI SHINES
Brandin Podziemski teamed up with Green to score in double figures during the first quarter, as they combined for 21 points and five 3-pointers. Podziemski made three 3-pointers and totaled 11 points in that quarter, including a long shot for a 2-for-1 opportunity at the end.
POST SETS CAREER HIGH WITH SIX 3-POINTERS
Quinten Post achieved a new career high by making six 3-pointers on Thursday, four of which were in the first half. Post effectively spaced the floor, hitting shots from various spots around the 3-point line, including the top, both wings, and the corners.
BUTLER III TRIPLE-DOUBLE
Jimmy Butler III achieved his second triple-double as a Warrior, ending the game with 16 points, 11 rebounds, and 12 assists. Although he shot only 4-for-15 from the field, Butler’s overall contribution was clear, as he led the team in rebounds, assists, and blocks.
CURRY SUFFERS PELVIC CONTUSION
With 3:24 left in the third quarter, Stephen Curry went to the locker room after falling hard on his lower back. He ran into two Raptors defenders while driving to the basket and passing to Buddy Hield for a corner 3-point shot. He was later diagnosed with a pelvic contusion and did not return to the game. Curry played efficiently during his 25 minutes on the court, scoring 17 points on 6-for-8 shooting.
